Job description

Role Overview

This position is responsible for carrying out routine housekeeping work to keep the community environment clean, orderly, and safe.

Core Duties

  • Complete assigned housekeeping tasks each day according to the work schedule provided.
  • Work with management to deliver routine cleaning in resident living spaces and recreation areas.
  • On a daily basis, clean and polish furniture, fixtures, ledges, and heating or cooling units in resident rooms and shared areas.
  • Wash, sanitize, and polish bathroom fittings, including removing water stains.
  • Keep windows and mirrors clean in resident rooms, recreational spaces, restrooms, and entry or exit areas.
  • Maintain walls and ceilings through washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing.
  • Use appropriate cleaning and disinfecting products to remove dirt, dust, grease, film, and similar buildup from surfaces.
  • Dispose of trash in the correct containers and replace liners in receptacles.
  • Report supply shortages to the supervisor.
  • At the end of each shift, clean and put away carts, equipment, and other supplies.
  • Carry out other assigned tasks, including special projects, as directed by the supervisor.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Prior experience of 1 year is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move around regularly during the workday is required.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, and stoop periodically throughout the day.
  • The role involves standing or walking for about 75% of the shift.
  • Must be able to push, pull, or move at least 100 pounds using proper body mechanics and with assistance.
  • Must be able to see and hear adequately, or use prosthetics that allow these senses to function well enough to meet job needs.
