Role overview

Join Chadwick Lodge as a Housekeeper and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for vulnerable service users. This role sits within the housekeeping team at a specialist secure service for people detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 and those with a history of offending behaviour.

You will play an important part in keeping the hospital presentable and hygienic across a range of spaces, while working alongside the maintenance team to uphold high cleaning standards throughout the service.

What you will do

• Clean all key areas of the service, including wards, offices, bedrooms, and visitor areas.
• Support the day-to-day running of the service as an engaged member of the housekeeping team.
• Follow hospital policies and procedures to help maintain the required security standards.
• Greet visitors professionally and handle telephone interactions with a courteous manner.
• Build positive working relationships with staff, visitors, and service users.
• Contribute to a positive working culture across the service.
• Take on other reasonable duties as assigned for the needs of the post.
• Attend all required mandatory and statutory training each year.

What is needed for success

• Previous cleaning experience in a similar environment.
• A genuine interest in cleaning and satisfaction in doing the job well.
• The ability to organise tasks and manage priorities effectively.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and consistently high cleanliness standards.
• The ability to identify issues and resolve them efficiently.

Workplace details

You will be based at Chadwick Drive (off Saxon Street), Eagle Stone, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK6 5LS.

The site includes Chadwick Lodge and Eagle Stone View, medium- and low-secure services offering specialist treatment programmes. These services support people with complex and enduring mental illness, with the aim of helping them achieve stability, reduce the risk of re-offending, and move toward community settings whenever possible.

The hospital is led by a consultant multidisciplinary team with substantial clinical and research experience in forensic psychiatry, and the programmes are built around evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
