Role overview
This opportunity is for housekeepers in Gainesville, FL. The pay starts at $15.50 per hour, with work scheduled for 24 to 40 hours each week. Weekend availability is required. The team is seeking people who are warm, caring, and able to work well with others in a hospital setting.
What you will do
- Carry out cleaning tasks in assigned hospital spaces such as patient rooms, shared areas, restrooms, and other locations as needed.
- Keep assigned areas consistently clean and orderly.
- Use HHS cleaning methods and established best practices in day-to-day work.
- Offer courteous and considerate service to everyone in the facility.
- Support coworkers and supervisors when additional help is needed to keep the department running smoothly.
Qualifications
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and able to communicate clearly in English while working cooperatively as part of a team. Good personal hygiene, a neat appearance, and compliance with uniform standards are required. Prior experience in housekeeping or related work such as environmental services, custodial work, janitorial services, room attendant duties, floor care, hotel operations, or healthcare is preferred.
Physical requirements
This position involves continuous standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching during the shift. It also requires frequent pushing and pulling of carts or equipment weighing more than 100 lb. across tile and carpeted floors. Employees must be comfortable handling chemicals such as bleach, wax, and disinfectants, and must be able to use the equipment needed to complete essential job functions.
