Job description
About the organisation

The team takes pride in making a positive difference for others, while also encouraging a balanced, enjoyable workplace. Staff can access benefits such as free pool entry and discounted gym membership. The location also offers easy access to rivers, lakes, forests, beaches, and walking tracks, many of which are very close by.
Role overview
The council is seeking an experienced and guest-focused Holiday Park Lead to support the delivery of outstanding visitor experiences at Riverside, Whakatāne Holiday Park.
In this senior operational support role, you will work closely with the Team Leader and take responsibility for the smooth running of daily operations. You will help maintain high standards in customer service, cleanliness, site presentation, and safety. The role requires you to guide and coach the team, encourage better ways of working, and help raise operational performance across the holiday park.
This is a practical, varied position with plenty of day-to-day responsibility. You will be a main contact for both staff and guests, assist with solving operational issues, uphold quality expectations, and step into leadership duties when needed. Success in this role will depend on your ability to strengthen team capability, deliver consistent standards, and contribute to memorable guest stays.
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone with a background in hospitality, tourism, accommodation, or customer service who leads through example and positive influence. You should be passionate about excellent service, comfortable working in a busy environment, and motivated by supporting others to perform at their best. Adaptability, resilience, and a commitment to continuous improvement are important, as priorities can change quickly in a holiday park setting.
Working arrangement
This is a part-time role of 30 hours per week. The roster may include weekends, public holidays, and busy holiday periods. The position is based onsite in Whakatane, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand.
