About the Role
U-Haul is looking for a diligent and skilled Hitch Service Technician to join our Pawtucket, RI team. This hands-on role involves working in Moving and Storage Center lots, where you will apply your technical knowledge to deliver exceptional customer service by recommending and installing appropriate towing packages.
Compensation and Benefits
Our hiring process is swift and rewarding — candidates can start immediately and get paid the same day. You will also be compensated for two hands-on interviews during the selection process as well as receive a $100 hiring bonus. Additionally, a $300 cash incentive is awarded after completing the Equipment Inspection and Verification certification through our 1-2-3 Punch Program at retail outlets.

Key Responsibilities
- Comprehend and articulate details of U-Haul’s array of towing solutions to customers
- Advise on and fit the correct tow packages on customer vehicles
- Deliver outstanding customer care and support throughout service experience
- Handle additional duties as assigned by management
- Engage in ongoing professional development via U-Haul University
Qualifications
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a record that meets company standards
- Experience handling basic electrical wiring and using hand and power tools
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The role involves moderate safety risks requiring adherence to safety protocols, which may require the use of protective gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields to mitigate exposure to moving machinery, fumes, or chemicals.
Physically, the job demands the ability to remain stationary indoors and outdoors for extended periods, navigate various workspaces, and reposition as necessary to operate tools effectively. The technician must be capable of handling loads up to 50 pounds, either independently or with assistance.
