Role overview
We are hiring an HIS Application Support Specialist to take ownership of the support, day-to-day operations, and ongoing enhancement of the Hospital Information System, with a strong emphasis on InterSystems TrakCare. This position is responsible for keeping the platform reliable and high-performing while ensuring it continues to meet both clinical and business requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Handle administration, support, and performance tuning for InterSystems TrakCare, including important modules such as ADT, Billing, Pharmacy, Orders, and related clinical workflows to maintain availability, speed, and user satisfaction.
- Work closely with InterSystems and other third-party vendors to troubleshoot issues, deliver improvements, and support smooth service operations.
- Manage daily HIS activities and incident resolution while meeting agreed service levels.
- Maintain user access, system settings, and workflow adjustments in line with changing operational needs.
- Support integrations between TrakCare and external platforms including LIS, RIS, PACS, ERP, and NPHIES.
- Track and assist interface activity using HL7, FHIR, and APIs to ensure safe and accurate data flow between systems.
- Contribute to the software development lifecycle for TrakCare changes, including upgrades, patches, and functional improvements.
- Make sure testing, documentation, and change control steps are completed properly for every system update.
- Improve the use of TrakCare across clinical and administrative areas by streamlining workflows, introducing automation, and increasing system efficiency.
- Maintain alignment with healthcare standards, NPHIES requirements, and other applicable regulations.
Qualifications and experience
The role requires a bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a closely related discipline. Candidates should bring 3 or more years of experience working with HIS or EMR systems. Practical expertise with InterSystems TrakCare is mandatory, and fluency in both Arabic and English is also required.
