Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated HIS Application Support Specialist to oversee the comprehensive support, daily operations, and continual enhancement of the Hospital Information System, especially focusing on InterSystems TrakCare. The specialist will ensure stable system performance, align functionalities with clinical and business objectives, and provide effective incident resolution alongside dependable system integrations.
Key Duties
- Lead administration and enhancement of InterSystems TrakCare, managing key modules such as ADT, Billing, Pharmacy, and Orders, ensuring system reliability and user satisfaction.
- Collaborate effectively with InterSystems and other vendors to address issues, manage system upgrades, and maintain service quality.
- Handle routine HIS operations, promptly resolve incidents meeting service level agreements.
- Maintain user access, configure system roles, and update workflows as required to support operational continuity.
- Administer integrations between TrakCare and external platforms including LIS, RIS, PACS, ERP, and NPHIES.
- Monitor and support data exchange interfaces using HL7, FHIR, and APIs, ensuring seamless and secure transactions.
- Support software development lifecycle processes for TrakCare enhancements including upgrades and patches.
- Ensure thorough testing, documentation, and change control adherence for all system modifications.
- Optimize TrakCare to improve clinical and administrative workflows through automation and efficiency improvements.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare standards, NPHIES guidelines, and applicable regulatory demands.
Educational and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of three years’ experience working with HIS or EMR systems.
- Proficient hands-on expertise in InterSystems TrakCare is essential.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English languages is required.
Technical Expertise
- In-depth knowledge of HL7 and FHIR integration protocols.
- Understanding of NPHIES workflows and healthcare standards.
- Familiarity with ZATCA RCM processes.
- Experience with system integrations involving laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology information systems.
- Strong foundation in SQL and database management principles.
- Competency with Windows operating systems and networking basics.
