Job Overview

The Heavy Equipment Superintendent/Assessor role is a contract position located in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, responsible for evaluating and certifying operator capabilities through both theoretical and practical tests. The role ensures compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations, client requirements including Saudi Aramco standards, and internal policies of the EnergyTech HE Certifications Unit, fostering safe and effective equipment operation on project and training sites.

Core Responsibilities

  • Administer written and practical competency evaluations for operators of various heavy equipment such as backhoe, bulldozer, forklift, grader, wheel loader, skid loader, backhoe loader, sideboom, telehandler, as well as cranes and rigging activities, abiding by client and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure assessments comply with Saudi Arabian governmental regulations, company protocols, and recognized competency frameworks.
  • Participate in creating, reviewing, and customizing assessment materials tailored to meet Saudi industry standards and client expectations.
  • Analyze assessment outcomes and produce detailed competency reports with suggestions for improvement.
  • Keep comprehensive records of assessments to ensure audit readiness and adherence to certification and compliance mandates.
  • Support both internal and external audits conducted by clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior assessors and trainees as needed.
  • Contribute to the review and update of policies and procedures ensuring alignment with Saudi regulations and best industry practices.
  • Adhere strictly to EnergyTech HE Certifications Unit policies, ethical guidelines, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
  • Collaborate with site teams, operations, and HSE departments to promote safe operation of equipment across projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Technical diploma or qualification related to the relevant trade or discipline.
  • Certification in one or more of the following: heavy equipment operation, crane operation, rigging.
  • Proven practical experience in sectors such as industrial, construction, oil and gas, or infrastructure projects within Saudi Arabia is preferred.
  • Proficiency in English for reading and writing; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Saudi Arabian health, safety, and environmental regulations and client safety standards.
  • Competency in conducting impartial, systematic operator evaluations.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on documentation accuracy and audit preparedness.
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities with operators, contractors, and site management teams.
  • Capability to work autonomously in dynamic site and operational settings.
