Role Summary
Orwell Healthcare is hiring Healthcare Assistants for its Rathgar, Dublin 6 facility. This is a permanent full-time position with a 39-hour weekly schedule and pay starting from €14.80.

What the Role Involves
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work closely with the nursing team to help residents with everyday needs while preserving their dignity, privacy and independence. The role calls for a compassionate professional who can contribute to a warm, supportive care environment and uphold high standards of resident wellbeing.
Professional Standards
- Work in line with HIQA requirements, the Health Act 2007 and any other applicable legislation.
- Follow Orwell Healthcare’s policies and procedures relevant to the Healthcare Assistant role.
- Maintain professional conduct in keeping with the company’s policies, employment terms, care philosophy and mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other Healthcare Assistants under the direction of the nursing team.
- Deliver person-centred care that supports residents to live as independently as possible while protecting privacy and dignity.
- Help create a safe, respectful and caring atmosphere that supports residents’ physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs.
- Assist residents with daily living tasks while always respecting dignity, privacy, safety and personal choice.
- Carry out key worker duties as assigned under the relevant SOP.
- Accompany residents to clinics, hospitals or other treatment centres when required and provide a brief verbal handover on return.
- Support the delivery of care plans and help review residents’ changing needs.
- Contribute to putting care plans into practice for each resident.
- Strictly observe confidentiality requirements.
- Work according to Orwell Healthcare’s statutory policies and procedures.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant is a team-oriented healthcare professional with a genuine interest in person-centred care, good English communication skills and experience in a nursing home setting. Experience in neuro rehabilitation or acquired brain injury care would be an advantage.
Requirements
- QQI Level 5 Full Major Award in Healthcare, Pre-Nursing, or an equivalent qualification.
- Prior experience in a nursing home.
- Comfortable working as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to providing person-centred care.
- Experience in neuro/rehab or acquired brain injury care is beneficial.
- Good spoken and written English.
