Role overview
Westcare Homecare Ltd is hiring a Healthcare Assistant in Monaghan, County Monaghan, Ireland. This is a full-time, on-site care role designed for someone who wants meaningful work, fair pay, and support while building a career in healthcare.
The position is suitable for people with previous care experience as well as those moving into care from retail, hospitality, customer service, or family caregiving. Training is provided to help new starters grow into the role.
Work is available across Clones, Ballybay, Castleblaney, Carrickmacross, Emyvale, Rossmore, Inniskeen, and Knockatallon.
Compensation and benefits
Pay is up to €21.50 per hour, with paid mileage included. Key duties
In this role, you will provide practical and emotional support to clients in their homes while helping them remain safe, comfortable, and as independent as possible.
- Assist clients with everyday personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and meal support
- Encourage mobility and help clients maintain independence
- Offer friendly companionship and emotional reassurance
- Observe clients’ wellbeing and escalate any concerns appropriately
- Contribute to maintaining a secure and comfortable home setting
What the employer is looking for
Applicants should have a full Irish driving licence and access to a car, along with a QQI Level 5 qualification or an equivalent care-related qualification. A dependable, compassionate, and positive approach is important.
Previous experience in care is helpful but not mandatory. People coming from retail, hospitality, customer service, or other people-focused roles are encouraged to apply, as transferable interpersonal skills are valued.
