Job Summary

Nua Healthcare Services, a leading private healthcare provider in Ireland specializing in mental health, residential, and supported living services for individuals with complex needs, is seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join their team as Healthcare Assistants in the Mental Health Sector. The role offers comprehensive training and development opportunities. The position is based in Gormanston, County Meath, Ireland.

Job Objectives

  • Uphold the company's mission, vision, and values.
  • Comply with responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 2001, Mental Health Amendment Act 2018, Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, and relevant standards and regulations.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Treat patients and their families with dignity, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Provide support to patients experiencing mental and emotional difficulties under the guidance of mental health professionals.
  • Assist patients with their daily living activities, including eating, personal care, and maintaining their living environment.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and weight as directed.
  • Support patients in therapy and rehabilitation programs to achieve independent living goals as set by healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the overall safe operation of the unit.
  • Complete all necessary documentation, including patient records and timesheets.

Skills Requirement

Qualification

  • Fetac Level 5 in Health Care or an equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential.

Knowledge

  • Familiarity with the Mental Health Act 2001.
  • Understanding of the Mental Health Commission's role and regulations.

Experience

  • A minimum of one year of experience in a similar healthcare setting is desirable but not essential.
  • A full, clean driver's license or progress towards obtaining one is desirable but not essential.
