Role Overview
The Health Coach plays a critical operational role in assisting individuals in enhancing their overall health. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Health Services, this role involves close collaboration with clients to formulate customized health improvement plans, provide ongoing guidance, and empower clients towards positive lifestyle modifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform initial evaluations to identify clients' health objectives, concerns, and barriers.
- Create tailored health and wellness plans factoring in nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and other pertinent elements.
- Offer continuous coaching and encouragement to sustain client motivation and accountability mechanisms.
- Educate clients about beneficial health practices including proper diet, exercise regimens, and stress coping strategies.
- Track client progress and revise health plans to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals such as physicians and dietitians to deliver comprehensive care.
- Keep abreast of the newest developments and scientific research in health and wellness.
- Maintain detailed and confidential client records according to compliance standards.
- Fulfill any other related tasks as delegated.
Professional Requirements and Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in health promotion, nutrition, psychology, or a related discipline is mandatory.
- Certification from a recognized health coaching program is required.
- Minimum of one year experience working in health coaching roles.
- Experience in leadership positions within health coaching or wellness initiatives is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of health and wellness fundamentals, behavioral change methodologies, and evidence-based coaching strategies.
- Comfort and skill in utilizing relevant health coaching technology and software tools.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing educational growth in the health coaching profession.
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for collaborative work.
Physical and Communication Requirements
- Capability to maintain both seated and standing postures for extended durations.
- Effectively communicate and exchange information with others.
- Perform repetitive hand and wrist movements as part of daily tasks.
- Assess work quality for accuracy, cleanliness, and thoroughness.
- Occasionally lift items weighing at least 15 pounds.
