Job description

Job purpose

This position is responsible for leading the full supply chain function for a fast-growing Data Center and AI Cloud business. The focus is on keeping costs competitive, strengthening supply continuity, and ensuring essential infrastructure is available when needed. The role also covers strategic sourcing, commercial oversight, and development of the vendor base across high-value AI compute, cloud infrastructure, data center technologies, and related services. The person in this role will also drive value engineering, risk control, and a shift toward digital procurement practices that support growth, hyperscale expansion, and new AI workloads.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the full supply chain and procurement operation across AI, Cloud, and Data Center infrastructure, with attention to cost, reliability, and scalability.
  • Build and run sourcing plans for AI compute components such as GPUs and accelerators, cloud infrastructure including servers, storage, and networking, and data center systems like power, cooling, racks, and MEP.
  • Search for, assess, and onboard both international and local suppliers to create a resilient and diversified vendor network.
  • Handle complex commercial discussions covering pricing, contract terms, SLAs, payment schedules, and long-term strategic arrangements.
  • Improve total cost of ownership using benchmarking, should-cost methods, and value engineering efforts.
  • Make sure critical and long-lead items are available to support data center growth, technology refreshes, and AI capacity expansion.
  • Monitor procurement execution so goods and services are delivered on time in line with project plans and business needs.
  • Set up and manage contract lifecycle controls, including compliance, performance tracking, and closure of obligations.
  • Manage procurement-linked financial planning, including CAPEX, OPEX, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow.
  • Generate measurable savings and avoidable cost reductions through strategic sourcing and continuous improvement.
  • Keep procurement records complete and audit-ready, while following company policies, regulations, and internal controls.
  • Track supplier performance through scorecards and ensure commitments on quality, cost, delivery, and service are met.
  • Identify and reduce supply chain risks such as geopolitical exposure, shortages of key components, and logistics issues.
  • Create alternative sourcing options and business continuity plans to strengthen supply resilience in changing global conditions.
  • Promote the use of digital procurement systems to improve efficiency, transparency, and data-led decisions.
  • Standardize procurement processes, SOPs, and governance models for consistency and scalability.
  • Work closely with Projects, Engineering, Finance, and Operations teams to align procurement with business objectives.
  • Support project teams in planning and executing procurement needs for greenfield and brownfield data center programs.
  • Develop strong relationships with vendors, OEMs, and strategic partners to secure better access and commercial advantage.
  • Lead, coach, and grow the supply chain team while building capability and a high-performance culture.
  • Train teams and stakeholders on procurement procedures, quality expectations, and compliance requirements.
  • Review procurement outcomes through analytics and reporting, and continuously improve cost, timelines, and quality.

Educational qualifications

  • BE/B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or Mechanical disciplines.
  • MBA in Supply Chain or Operations is preferred.

Relevant experience

  • 20 to 25 years of progressive experience in supply chain or procurement, including substantial leadership exposure.
  • Hands-on experience procuring AI infrastructure such as GPUs, accelerators, HPC systems, cloud platforms, and data center technologies across IT and non-IT categories.
  • Proven success in managing large CAPEX-led projects.
  • Experience working with global vendor ecosystems.
  • Strong financial understanding with practical exposure to budgeting, cost optimization, should-cost analysis, and cash flow planning.
  • Excellent stakeholder management across Projects, Technology, Finance, and Operations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation abilities, with the capacity to influence senior leadership and steer strategic initiatives.
