Head - Cloud Infrastructure & Services

About the Role

Our client requires a seasoned Head to lead the strategy, deployment, operation, and commercialisation of their Hybrid Cloud environment leveraging the Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the Hybrid Cloud strategy and corresponding roadmap.
• Manage end-to-end rollout of Google Distributed Cloud solutions.
• Ensure integration between Google Distributed Cloud and Google Cloud Platform.
• Supervise migration efforts of critical enterprise applications.
• Enhance infrastructure performance through improved utilisation, automation, resilience, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Support provisioning of AI-focused cloud platforms.
• Create and commercialise enterprise cloud offerings including IaaS, PaaS, DRaaS, Managed Cloud, AI Cloud, GPU-as-a-Service, and Sovereign Cloud services.
• Achieve revenue and profitability objectives for Enterprise Cloud in collaboration with the commercial division.
• Manage strategic alliances with Google and integration partners.
• Establish and lead a Cloud Centre of Excellence for continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications & Experience

• At least 15 years of professional experience in cloud infrastructure, enterprise platform management, or data centre operations.
• Successfully led implementations of Google Distributed Cloud, including GDC Hosted or Anthos-based hybrid deployments.
• Strong practical knowledge in integrating Google Distributed Cloud with Google Cloud Platform services.
• Demonstrated expertise migrating substantial mission-critical enterprise applications.
• Industry experience within telecommunications, banking, financial services, or governmental organisations is preferred.
• Background in developing enterprise or managed cloud service models with direct commercial responsibility.
• Proficient with Google Distributed Cloud technologies, Anthos, GKE, Kubernetes orchestration, enterprise networking, storage solutions, identity and access management, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery protocols.
• Experience collaborating with Google Cloud Professional Services or leading system integrators is an advantage.

Educational Requirements and Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline is mandatory.
• Master's degree is desirable.
• Google Professional Cloud Architect or Cloud Engineer certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
• Certifications in Google Distributed Cloud or Anthos are highly regarded.
• Additional certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), TOGAF, and Project Management Professional (PMP) are beneficial.
