Team Global Express is seeking an experienced, safety-conscious Heavy Combination (HC) truck driver to serve our Townsville, Queensland region. This role offers a permanent full-time position focused on local freight deliveries with a company that places high value on safety, teamwork, and excellent customer service.

Role Overview

Based in Townsville, you will conduct local pickups and deliveries using an HC tautliner truck. Your workweek runs Monday to Friday with start times between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM, and overtime hours are available according to business needs.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an HC tautliner vehicle to complete local deliveries and pickups.
• Load, unload, and secure cargo using approved techniques including strap and chain restraints.
• Perform daily vehicle pre-start inspections and promptly report defects.
• Provide professional customer service representing Team Global Express.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of delivery documentation.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Report any hazards, near misses, or incidents immediately.
• Collaborate effectively with depot staff and team members.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possession of a current HC (Heavy Combination) Driver Licence.
• Previous experience driving tautliner trucks.
• Strong knowledge of load restraint requirements and safe use of securing equipment.
• Understanding of Chain of Responsibility legislation.
• Dedication to workplace health and safety.
• Excellent communication skills and commitment to outstanding customer service.
• Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently.
• Positive attitude with a team-oriented mindset.
• Availability for overtime work as business demands.
