About the Role
Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join their Integrated Facilities Management team, supporting a prominent private hospital network in Bella Vista, New South Wales. This is a dynamic, hands-on position focused on ensuring the smooth operation, patient comfort, and clinical safety of a live hospital environment. Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance tasks, including carpentry, plastering, painting, and minor repairs.
- Maintain the integrity of doors, hardware, ceilings, partitions, and other building finishes.
- Provide assistance with minor trade-related tasks within your scope of expertise.
- Coordinate with specialized contractors for any complex or licensed repair work.
- Address and resolve urgent maintenance issues that may impact hospital operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of building fabric and manage asset lifecycle replacement initiatives.
- Support scheduled maintenance programs and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Communicate effectively with hospital staff to minimize disruptions during maintenance activities.
- Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements during all tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience in building maintenance, handyman roles, or multi-trade positions.
- Proficiency in basic carpentry, plastering, painting, tiling, and general building upkeep.
- Experience working in complex facility environments, particularly hospitals or clinical settings, is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.
- Capability to operate safely within a strictly regulated environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license, a White Card, and the ability to secure necessary background clearances.
Desirable Skills
- Experience operating Elevated Work Platforms (EWP) or High-Risk Boom equipment.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing or electrical systems.
- Familiarity with minor fit-outs, de-fits, or small-scale construction projects.
- Comfort working in confined spaces, at heights, or within plant rooms.
