Role overview
The Property Officer will help oversee the upkeep and day-to-day condition of public housing estates within assigned Town Councils. The role focuses on coordinating maintenance works, following up on defects, supporting resident engagement, and assisting grassroots and community-related activities.
Key duties
- Liaise with contractors to ensure common estate areas are properly maintained, including cleaning, conservancy, landscaping, horticultural services, and both improvement and cyclical works.
- Carry out site inspections and work with contractors to close defects and complete rectification work.
- Raise work orders, monitor completion of repair tasks, verify that works are rectified, and process related payments.
- Handle resident feedback, follow up on issues, and arrange callback service once defects have been resolved.
- Discuss estate maintenance matters with grassroots leaders and support their follow-up actions.
- Help grassroots leaders organise community activities.
- Attend MP house visits, grassroots meetings, and upgrading meetings outside normal office hours.
- Respond to urgent matters referred by the Manager, grassroots leaders, and EMSU.
- Perform cross-checks of estate inspections, arrears visit follow-ups, and other special tasks as assigned.
Candidate profile
The employer is seeking someone with at least Higher Nitec or Nitec qualification and 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in property, estate, or facilities management, or in building/facilities maintenance. The ideal candidate should communicate well in both written and spoken English, work effectively as part of a team, and also be capable of handling responsibilities independently with minimal supervision.
