Role Overview
Working as a Shift Leader at GYG Mount Barker means reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager and ensuring customers consistently receive prompt and friendly service. The role involves preparing menu items following established processes and maintaining thorough knowledge of all menu offerings, ingredients, and procedures to deliver high quality Mexican cuisine with efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Provide welcoming and prompt customer service at all times.
- Prepare menu items according to GYG’s standards and procedures.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of menu details including ingredients and preparation methods.
- Support team operations to ensure smooth, efficient service delivery.
- Keep the workstation clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Proficiency in English, especially if it is not your native language.
- Possession of an RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification.
- Strong multitasking skills suitable for fast paced environments.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn Point of Sale (POS) and EFTPOS systems.
- Good understanding of Australian currency, payment methods, and loyalty card processes.
- Friendly, approachable demeanour with patience and eagerness to assist customers.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the work area.
- A proactive attitude with enthusiasm for learning and teamwork.
- Effective communication skills and self-motivated nature.
Additional Information
- Previous experience in food preparation or customer service is beneficial but not mandatory; a positive attitude is prioritized.
- This position is within a GYG restaurant franchised by the OTR Group.
