Job description
Role Overview
This full-time, non-management housekeeping and laundry position is based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. The role focuses on maintaining guest rooms and public areas to Marriott’s service and cleanliness standards while delivering courteous, responsive support to guests and internal teams.
Key Duties
- Quickly respond to guest requests and support needs raised by other departments.
- Prepare the housekeeping cart with required supplies and bring it to the assigned area.
- Enter guest rooms only by following the correct access and vacancy verification process.
- Restock guest amenities and room supplies as needed.
- Change used linens and terry items for fresh ones, make beds, and fold terry items neatly.
- Clean bathrooms thoroughly and remove trash, used linen, and room service items from rooms.
- Confirm that in-room appliances are present and functioning properly.
- Tidy desk items, furniture, and appliances, and remove dust, smudges, and marks from walls and furnishings.
- Vacuum carpets and carry out floor care tasks in guest rooms and corridors.
Standards, Safety, and Conduct
- Follow company procedures, safety rules, and security requirements at all times.
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries without delay.
- Complete required safety training and certifications and store flammable materials correctly.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and protect confidential information.
- Greet guests warmly, acknowledge them according to brand standards, and provide attentive service.
- Anticipate guest needs, support guests with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely.
- Use clear, professional communication with colleagues and guests.
- Work cooperatively with the team to meet shared goals and quality expectations.
- Carry out additional reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Physical Requirements
The job requires frequent physical activity, including lifting and carrying items up to 25 pounds without assistance and heavier items with help, pushing and pulling loaded housekeeping carts on uneven or sloping surfaces, reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, stooping, standing, sitting, kneeling, and walking for long periods during the shift, as well as handling objects of different sizes and weights with good hand-eye coordination.
Education and Experience
No high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Prior related work experience is not necessary, and no supervisory experience or license/certification is needed.
