About the role
Sun Pharma East Africa Ltd is hiring a Group Product Manager based in Nairobi. This position sits within Marketing and is generally office-based. The role carries end-to-end responsibility for the country brand portfolio, with a focus on building and executing healthcare professional (HCP)-oriented marketing plans that support revenue growth, stronger market share, and durable profitability.
The role works across multiple functions, turns market insights into practical action, and supports key opinion leader (KOL) engagement and development to improve brand strength and competitive positioning. It also requires close control of KPIs, disciplined execution, and ongoing refinement of marketing initiatives.

Key responsibilities
- Build, coordinate, execute, and take ownership of strategic and operational plans that improve profitability, expand market share, and grow revenue for the brand portfolio over both the short and long term.
- Lead assigned initiatives that contribute to the business unit’s overall objectives.
- Create marketing and promotional plans that address the needs of end consumers.
- Track business results regularly and use performance monitoring to support the portfolio.
- Gather market intelligence through primary research and direct customer engagement.
- Develop and implement business and marketing strategies in partnership with key prescribers, opinion leaders, round tables, and advisory groups.
- Share financial accountability for budgets covering advertising, promotion, conferences, symposia, sales collateral, product literature, and website content, including analysis of income and costs.
- Initiate, coordinate, and manage marketing activities and projects.
- Present to internal teams and train field staff as required.
- Visit national and international congresses, hospitals, and key opinion leaders.
- Work with headquarters to adapt the corporate brand strategy locally, including logos, visuals, project spending approvals, and local communication plans, while contributing input to broader product strategy.
- Engage with medical specialists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals, as well as DMU stakeholders such as formulary committees and insurance companies.
- Organize advisory councils and may serve as facilitator, chairperson, or product presenter.
- Collaborate with internal and external media partners to ensure strategies are executed properly.
Requirements
- B. Pharm, M. Pharm, and MBA qualification.
- 10 to 15 years of prior work experience.
- Proven success in marketing or sales.
- Strong strategic thinking and business insight.
- Good networking ability and planning skills.
- Creative, persuasive, and confident communication style.
- Strong analytical and conceptual capability.
- Inspiring personality with a self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset.
