Grocery Shopper Expert

Role Overview

This is an hourly contract opportunity for a Grocery Shopper Expert working remotely. The position supports retail and wholesale buying decisions across grocery categories, with an expected commitment of 10 to 40 hours per week. Compensation is set at $35 to $50 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Choose and source grocery items for both retail and wholesale needs.
• Review market movements, customer demand, and competitor assortments to guide buying decisions.
• Work with suppliers on pricing and contract terms to improve margin and profitability.
• Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships that support steady supply and product quality.
• Track inventory closely and act early when stock shortages or risks arise.
• Create buying approaches tailored to specific product categories.
• Share findings, recommendations, and decisions clearly with cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Hands-on background in grocery buying, procurement, retail, or wholesale operations.
• Deep understanding of product sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing strategy.
• Ability to interpret market patterns and consumer behavior analytically.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and commercial agreements.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Good command of inventory control and stock planning.
• Self-driven approach with the ability to deliver independently in a remote, fast-moving setting.
