This role requires hands-on design execution with a strong eye for detail, collaboration, and producing high-caliber, brand-consistent visuals spanning packaging, product launches, digital commerce, retail environments, and social media. The designer will play a key role in evolving Kate Somerville's visual identity through packaging enhancements, innovative launches, and merchandising support.
Key Responsibilities
- Create visually compelling, brand-aligned creative assets for digital e-commerce platforms (websites, email campaigns, paid advertising, Amazon), social channels, and retail educational content.
- Design updates to packaging, develop line extensions, secondary packaging, and promotional kits while preserving brand integrity under guidance from senior designers.
- Contribute to visual merchandising, including fixture and in-store display designs.
- Assist with materials for event activations and experiential marketing.
- Produce product renderings and aid in photo retouching and image compositing.
- Interpret creative briefs and brand guidelines to develop on-strategy design solutions.
- Support new product innovation (NPI) efforts by conceptualizing and creating visual assets.
- Incorporate feedback from senior creative leads to refine and maintain brand consistency.
- Engage in daily creative meetings to align on priorities and deadlines.
- Manage project timelines proactively and communicate any obstacles effectively.
- Utilize creative project management software (Wrike) to monitor and update task progress.
- Assist in photoshoot logistics including preparation of shot lists and on-site support.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Ecommerce, Innovation, Social, and Operations teams to fulfill creative requests.
- Participate in cross-team meetings for assigned projects.
- Help prepare internal presentations and pitches as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related discipline preferred.
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience in graphic design; experience in beauty, fashion, or consumer brands is advantageous.
- Portfolio must demonstrate expertise in beauty packaging design alongside digital, retail, and campaign work.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite; experience with Wrike or similar project management tools is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and time management.
- Effective communicator with proven ability to collaborate across departments.
- Receptive to direction and feedback while managing deadlines efficiently.
Success Metrics
- Deliverables consistently meet brand standards, quality benchmarks, and deadlines.
- Designs maintain brand uniformity across all customer touchpoints.
- Collaborating teams report high satisfaction with support on daily creative tasks.
- Incorporation of leadership feedback is timely and effective.
- Creative project workflows are diligently maintained using tools like Wrike.
