Role Overview
The Graphic Designer based at our Castlebar studio will produce creative, precise, and contemporary design work for a diverse clientele. You will manage daily graphic design projects, ensuring artwork is delivered promptly and accurately. Reporting directly to Directors and the Centre Manager, your creative output and client communication will support business growth and uphold Snap's professional image.
Primary Duties
- Actively participate in production meetings with updated status on all artwork and projects.
- Provide comprehensive job handover if absent during meetings to ensure team continuity.
- Oversee your own design projects and supervise junior designers.
- Produce artwork and complete print jobs as scheduled, reorganizing priorities to accommodate urgent tasks.
- Closely monitor production workflows including outsourced work and activities at Snap's central hub.
- Verify job details from work orders and emails before initiating design production.
- Archive printed samples with job documentation for future reference.
- Directly contact clients for jobs awaiting proofs or on hold, maintaining clear communication.
- Offer clients professional and relevant design suggestions in line with their concepts.
- Ensure all client interactions are courteous, professional, and efficient.
- Thoroughly proofread artwork and conduct meticulous checks prior to client delivery.
- Guarantee quality control over all centre-produced work.
- Obtain client approval on proofs; educate clients on proofing requirements when necessary.
- Implement secondary proofing before printing final jobs.
- Maintain detailed proofing and communication records adhering to ISO standards.
- Uphold ISO operational procedures consistently.
- Keep Centre Manager and owner updated on project progress.
- Assist Customer Service with tasks such as phone and counter coverage when needed.
- Maintain organised filing of artwork files and job documentation daily.
- Exhibit flexibility to occasionally work outside standard hours during peak periods.
- Motivate team members and foster effective interdepartmental communication.
- Contribute ideas to improve departmental and company operations.
- Promote a positive and productive workplace, addressing any issues promptly.

- Perform other duties as assigned, including hands-on production and finishing work requiring speed and accuracy.
Candidate Profile
- Degree or advanced diploma in visual communications or graphic design.
- At least two years of experience in a commercial graphic design setting.
- Excellent command of Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
- Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.

Terms & Conditions
- Full-time role based onsite at Unit 12, N5 Business Park, Moneen Road, Castlebar, County Mayo, Ireland.
- Salary ranges from €30000 to €38000 annually.
- Rare requirement for occasional overtime during busy periods, requiring flexibility.
