Job description
The opportunity
Join NZME’s Audio division and help shape visual content that brings radio brands, podcasts, and digital channels to life. In this role, you’ll contribute to the company’s Eyes to Ears digital approach by producing strong creative work for campaigns, promotions, and day-to-day content. You will work alongside the Digital & Social Content Director – Audio and other internal teams to keep the brand portfolio modern, compelling, and responsive to emerging trends.
What you’ll do
- Develop attention-grabbing brand materials such as graphics, motion content, and video assets for promotions, shows, podcasts, and marketing campaigns.
- Work with Digital, Content, and Commercial colleagues to take ideas from early concepts through final delivery.
- Spot opportunities for content by reviewing Digital Content and Promo Calendars.
- Adapt creative work to different audiences, platforms, and brand personalities.
- Maintain social templates and design standards in line with current trends and industry best practice.
- Assist with client-facing campaigns by producing polished, engaging creative assets.
- Use data and performance insights to improve and fine-tune design output.
- Bring forward ideas that increase audience interaction across digital and broadcast channels.
- Keep up with new developments in design, digital media, and social content trends.
About you
You are an experienced designer who can balance creativity with delivery across multiple projects. You have a strong eye for layout, typography, and brand consistency, and you work well with cross-functional teams.
Essential experience and skills
- At least 3 years of experience in a graphic design position.
- A relevant qualification in Graphic Design or Visual Communication.
- Advanced capability with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro.
- Hands-on experience using AI generation tools to support creative production and design workflows.
- A portfolio that demonstrates strong brand work, campaign design, typography, and layout skills.
- The ability to handle several projects at once while meeting deadlines.
- Clear communication skills and confidence working with different teams.
- A positive, proactive attitude and openness to feedback.
Preferred experience
- Knowledge of social media best practices, including evolving format requirements, aspect ratios, and platform-specific optimisation.
- Understanding of media law topics such as copyright, plagiarism, and defamation.
- Ability to use After Effects or similar tools, which would be an advantage.
- Experience with HTML5 and GIF creation is preferred but not essential.
- Background in radio or media would be beneficial, though it is not mandatory.

Role details
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Auckland CBD. The working pattern is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The salary range is NZD 65,000 to NZD 72,000 per year.
