Grafter Technician - Private Farm

About the Role

We are looking for a knowledgeable and precise Grafter Technician to become a key member of an agricultural team at a private farm in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in plant grafting and nursery operations and a strong interest in horticulture.

Primary Duties

• Execute a variety of grafting methods such as budding, cleft, veneer, and whip-and-tongue grafting.
• Choose robust rootstocks and scions to maximize graft union success.
• Prepare, graft, secure, and label plants following nursery protocols.
• Regularly observe grafted plants to assess healing progress, growth, and general health.
• Carry out routine plant care tasks including pruning, watering, fertilizing, and maintenance.
• Detect and report on pest infestations, diseases, or any plant health issues.
• Ensure nursery and workspace are kept clean and orderly.
• Document grafting activities and track success rates of grafts.
• Adhere strictly to health, safety, and quality guidelines.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience in roles such as Grafter Technician, Nursery Technician, or similar horticulture positions.
• Solid understanding of plant propagation and grafting techniques.
• Capable of identifying healthy plant materials and common diseases.
• Meticulous attention to detail with excellent manual dexterity.
• Physically equipped to perform outdoor labor under varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
• Possession of a certificate or diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture, or a related branch is beneficial.

Compensation & Benefits

The position offers a salary of AED 2000 along with complimentary accommodation. Additional benefits will be provided in accordance with UAE labor law.
