Government Relations Manager

Overview

This role involves establishing and nurturing connections with public sector bodies at multiple levels pertinent to Xiaomi's operations, including ministries and local authorities across Europe. The manager will analyze relevant industry policies, especially in sectors such as transport, mobility, and automotive, to monitor risks and advise on policy matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain governmental relationships linked to Xiaomi's business interests.
• Conduct thorough analyses of European industry regulations and policies, identify potential risks, and provide strategic guidance.
• Manage memberships in industrial associations and cultivate networks with industry partners.
• Act as Xiaomi's representative during regular engagements with government agencies, think tanks, international organizations, and public entities.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, including R&D, sales, and marketing, to offer support on pertinent issues.
• Support business units with policy reviews and coordinate activities at the European level.

Candidate Requirements

• At least three years of experience interacting with government departments and public authorities, preferably in corporate government relations, public affairs departments, or consultancies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of current policies and regulations, with a focus on transport, mobility, and automotive sectors.
• Results-driven approach, strong business acumen, excellent analytical skills, self-motivation, entrepreneurial mindset, and effective self-management abilities to excel in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of positively representing the company.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Public Relations, International Studies, Political Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• Fluency in German and advanced proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
