About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Google Ads Manager to optimize and expand our Google Search campaigns for Auckland Movers, a company specializing in residential and commercial moving services. The primary goal is to increase quote completions within a defined daily budget. This is a performance-driven role where you will be empowered to restructure campaigns, test new ad groups, and explore different campaign types to achieve measurable results. The current account is operational with a conversion rate of approximately 6.87% and a Cost Per Acquisition (CPA) of around NZ$76 on a daily budget of $92. We aim to improve this by reducing CPA to under NZ$60 and increasing the conversion rate towards 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly reviews of search terms, implement negative keywords, and reduce spending on non-converting terms.
  • Adjust bids strategically based on performance data.
  • Provide a brief weekly email update detailing spend, conversions, CPA, and actions taken.
  • Monthly testing of ad copy, including writing new headlines and evaluating their performance against existing ones.
  • Review and optimize budget allocation across campaigns.
  • Prepare a concise monthly summary outlining key performance changes, insights, and future plans.
  • Proactively propose new campaigns or structural changes when opportunities arise.
  • Identify and flag potential wasted spend promptly.
  • Address any structural issues within campaigns before they impact performance significantly.
  • Evaluate and propose the potential use of other advertising channels like Facebook Ads if they can drive cost-effective quotes.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing Google Search campaigns, specifically for local or service-based businesses.
  • Demonstrated success in reducing CPA, supported by a specific example of past achievements.
  • Proficiency in managing negative keywords to prevent budget wastage.
  • Comfort and experience with Smart Bidding strategies, understanding when to utilize tCPA effectively.
  • Ability to write compelling ad copy that targets users likely to book services.
  • Experience with home services or trades in New Zealand or Australia is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) conversion tracking and the ability to identify tracking issues early is a plus.

Perks

This is a part-time contractor role with the potential for scope growth based on performance. As your efforts demonstrate return on investment, opportunities for managing more campaigns, exploring new channels, and potentially increasing the budget will be discussed and compensated separately. The initial engagement is designed to be focused and scalable.

Eligibility

This role is open to individuals with proven experience in Google Ads management, particularly those who can demonstrate a track record of improving campaign performance and reducing costs for local service businesses. A proactive and results-oriented approach is essential.

Additional Information

Hours: 3–5 hours per week.
Budget: Fixed daily budget of $92, with potential for increase based on performance.
Communication: Primarily via email, with WhatsApp for urgent matters. A monthly call is optional if deemed beneficial for alignment.
Access: Full editor access to campaigns will be provided. Strategic changes impacting budget or overall campaign direction require prior approval.
