Role overview
This contract role focuses on supporting and improving enterprise GIS solutions for ADNOC Sour Gas in Abu Dhabi. The position involves hands-on administration, development, migration, and integration work across ArcGIS-based platforms and related business systems.
Key responsibilities
- Keep ADNOC Sour Gas EGIS platforms running smoothly and continuously improve them, including ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Analytics, Geo Event Processor, and Operations Dashboard.
- Take care of GIS infrastructure management and routine administration tasks.
- Move the environment from ArcGIS 10.3.1 to ArcGIS 10.6.
- Handle GIS data loading, map service setup, map service publishing, and image data processing.
- Manage application and service access authorizations.
- Improve and update data models as needed.
- Configure, customize, enhance, and troubleshoot ArcGIS web and desktop applications, including bug fixes.
- Administer the EGIS system and resolve operational issues.
- Investigate and fix GIS service access and integration problems with various business applications.
- Store live feed data for incident analysis.
- Create geoprocessing services for impact studies and business analysis.
- Extend the data model for subsurface, drilling, HSE, and operations information, and add more business-focused web mapping capabilities as required.
- Provide spatial services for integration with SAP, SmartPlant, Honeywell, and other systems.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of solid experience delivering enterprise GIS solutions with ESRI technologies.
- Practical knowledge of GIS tools and products such as ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Desktop, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
- Experience building web and desktop applications using ArcGIS Server APIs, ArcObjects, .NET, JavaScript, jQuery, and HTML5.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise databases, especially MS SQL Server.
- Strong background in administering ArcGIS Server and publishing spatial services.
- Good understanding of GIS solution architecture, IIS web servers, Active Directory integration, application security, and IT infrastructure.
- Experience migrating GIS data from multiple source systems.
- Sound knowledge of IT infrastructure and security practices.
- Ability to produce application documentation, UML diagrams, flow diagrams, test plans, and related technical materials.
- Strong analytical ability for designing user-friendly enterprise GIS solutions.
- Oil and gas domain knowledge is an advantage, along with prior GIS implementation experience in that sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
