About the Role

The General Manager (GM) for the GCC Cluster serves as the highest-ranking leader within the region, responsible for steering the business toward sustainable growth and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant laws. This role positions you as the primary representative of the organization, tasked with strengthening and promoting the global corporate brand through adherence to the Biogen GM Accountability model. You will lead the Cluster Leadership Team and collaborate internationally to align priorities, fostering a culture of operational excellence and compliance. Your strategic insight will drive your team toward achieving goals, acting as the key decision-maker for the Affiliate/Cluster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide the Cluster team to fulfill long-term strategic objectives and annual targets while maintaining adherence to local and company regulations.
  • Implement Biogen’s global strategies locally, nurturing a culture centered on operational excellence.
  • Oversee core and support functions, establishing metrics to monitor key deliverables.
  • Cultivate an inclusive and compliant culture that encourages speaking up and ethical behavior.
  • Direct business strategies and execution plans to fulfill objectives in line with marketing and brand strategies.
  • Manage customer engagement approaches ensuring adherence to compliance and business dynamics.
  • Lead market access initiatives, including pricing strategies, while liaising with Global and Regional Market Access teams.
  • Ensure medical activities support company goals and position the Medical team as preferred partners to external stakeholders.
  • Work with Human Resources to maintain staffing standards and promote inclusivity and risk-taking within the team.
  • Fulfill legal, fiduciary, and compliance duties to minimize risk and adhere to all relevant standards.
  • Handle profit and loss management, budgeting, forecasting, and ensure financial policy compliance.
  • Ensure efficient supply chain management, proper forecasting, and legal compliance in medicine distribution.
  • Enhance Biogen’s corporate brand locally by building strong relationships with healthcare organizations, government entities, and industry groups.
  • Supervise IT, facilities, and procurement to guarantee infrastructure supports productivity while following corporate guidelines.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and compliance standards within the industry.
  • Proven capability in formulating and executing business strategies in alignment with overarching company goals.
  • Expertise in managing P&L, budgets, and financial forecasts with a history of meeting targets.
  • Familiarity with market access, pricing mechanisms, and healthcare systems.
  • Strong communication skills and aptitude for relationship-building with key external stakeholders like healthcare organizations and government authorities.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills to lead multi-functional teams and initiatives effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience facilitating organizational transformation and fostering a culture of innovation and inclusiveness.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and logistics within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Advanced academic credentials in Business Administration, Management, or related fields.
