Role Overview

This position is for a General Maintenance Worker at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia. The role supports day-to-day upkeep by handling practical repair and maintenance tasks that help keep the site safe, functional, and well maintained.

Work Schedule and Employment Type

Shifts are scheduled on weekdays, with morning and afternoon/evening coverage. Exact timing will be discussed during the interview. The role may be offered as full-time or part-time; the provided employment setup for this posting is part-time and onsite.

Pay

Compensation is listed at $15 to $18 per hour.

Key Duties

You will handle a range of general maintenance tasks across one or more skill areas. Work may include minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, electrical repair or installation, and vehicle servicing.

Common assignments may also include replacing light bulbs, installing paper dispenser units, changing filters, replacing door locks, and completing light decorative maintenance. These tasks are limited to work that does not require a licensed skilled tradesperson or journeyman.

You are expected to arrive on time and consistently attend your scheduled shifts. Additional duties may be assigned based on client needs and site requirements.

Qualifications and Expectations

Applicants should be team-focused, dependable, adaptable, and committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.

Candidates must hold any license or certification required for the specific work performed in the applicable city and state. A valid driver’s license is also required.
