Job Overview

The Gate Checker plays a crucial role in managing the flow of traffic at the plant, ensuring accurate records by verifying all vehicle movements and materials handled.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and guide all visitors arriving at the facility.
• Manage customer vehicle pickups efficiently.
• Monitor and record all incoming and outgoing vehicles at the plant gate.
• Count, sort, and verify material types and quantities.
• Match inventory records to physical counts of materials on trucks accurately.
• Ensure that loads and unload totals are consistent with assigned routes.
• Confirm trailer seals correspond with driver documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of the gate area, office, and surrounding premises.
• Carry out any additional duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Comply with safety requirements including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety-toed shoes when necessary.
• Consistent and punctual attendance is essential.
• Proficient in English for reading, writing, and speaking.
• Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
• Ability to safeguard company property.
• Competent with company technology and resources.
• Education: Less than high school education required or equivalent experience/training up to six months.
• Available to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedules as necessary.
• Capable of performing physical activities including frequent sitting, standing, walking, and lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with relevant departments regarding driver issues.
• Demonstrate a proactive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

Physical Demands

• Position involves frequent sitting, standing, walking, and lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, crawling, typing, and overhead reaching.
• Regular use of personal protective equipment and working outdoors with exposure to weather.
• Must wear safety-toed footwear when operating industrial equipment or working in designated areas.

Work Schedule

Monday: 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM
Tuesday to Friday: 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM
