Role Overview

We seek a dedicated Gardener - Handyperson to maintain the school grounds, ensuring they remain visually appealing, safe, and well-kept. This role involves various gardening tasks, grounds and facility management, minor repairs, and upkeep to sustain a vibrant educational environment. The successful applicant will work collaboratively within a team, managing both soft and hard landscaping elements including turf, while following safe work procedures and departmental policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and present school grounds in a clean, tidy, and attractive condition.
• Perform grounds and facility management tasks to help sustain safety and cleanliness.
• Manage growing environments for soft and hard landscaping, including turf care.
• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance as required.
• Use gardening equipment and chemicals safely and in accordance with regulations.

Candidate Requirements

• Knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including safe use and storage of equipment, materials, and chemicals.
• Desirable experience in servicing gardening tools and handling minor repairs.
• Possession of a valid Working With Children Check.
• Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a Screening Clearance Number before commencement.
• Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or valid visa with appropriate work rights for the duration of the position.

Additional Information

This is a permanent, full-time position commencing Term 4, 2026. Consideration may be given to suitable candidates for similar future vacancies over the following 12 months.
