Role overview
Johanniter GmbH is seeking a Fundraiser to strengthen regional fundraising efforts in Berlin. The position focuses on building and maintaining donor relationships, developing new funding opportunities, and supporting both strategic and operational fundraising work across multiple stakeholder groups.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver regional fundraising initiatives for private donors, foundations, companies, and public funding bodies through relationship management, donor communication, and targeted outreach.
- Acquire both existing and new donors via campaigns, partnerships, and fundraising actions.
- Independently secure third-party funding, including donation appeals tied to occasions, fine fundraising, and online fundraising.
- Prepare data analyses to assess the effectiveness of fundraising activities.
- Identify additional target groups and develop innovative fundraising approaches.
- Work closely with the board, marketing, press and public relations, volunteer management, controlling, finance, and other specialist teams, including cooperation at state and federal level.
- Help further develop integrated fundraising management as well as strategic and operational fundraising planning.
- Handle administrative duties and take responsibility for budgets and cost centers.
Requirements
- A suitable university or applied sciences degree, and/or further training in fundraising.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in fundraising and third-party funding acquisition, with strong knowledge of common fundraising methods, tools, and data-based performance measurement.
- Solid understanding of the lottery and foundation landscape in Germany, relationship-based fundraising with diverse audiences, and project and campaign management.
- Interest in innovation and digital trends in fundraising.
- Confident use of standard MS Office applications and databases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German, including strong spelling proficiency.
- Good interpersonal skills, teamwork, creativity, and reliability.
- General willingness to communicate in English as well.
- Identification with the mission and values of a non-profit Christian organization.
