Role overview
This position supports the freezer, cooler, and deli departments by keeping product available, maintaining food quality, and helping create a clean, safe, member-friendly shopping experience. In the deli area, the role is also customer-facing, so friendly service and helpful interaction are an important part of the job.

Key responsibilities
- Keep products available for members and help ensure food items are handled properly
- Maintain clean shelves, correct temperature control, accurate expiration-date checks, and disposal of items that do not meet quality standards
- Pack items into appropriate containers and build/refresh product displays for sale
- Keep the department neat, sanitized, and ready for members at all times
- Follow all safety procedures, including safety sweeps, forklift spotting rules, hazardous material handling, steel standards, and reporting unsafe conditions
- Manage claims and returns, zone the area, receive and replenish merchandise, and arrange displays and signage correctly
- Complete audits, paperwork, logs, and other required records while protecting high-shrink and fragile items
- Greet members, understand their needs, help them find items, support purchase decisions, resolve concerns, and promote store offerings
- Follow food-handling rules, operate and sanitize equipment, use cold-chain procedures, clean coolers/freezers/deli equipment and surfaces, monitor fans/drains/doors, and report maintenance issues
