About the Role
Ardent Communications is looking for a creative freelance mid-weight digital designer to strengthen its growing team. The ideal candidate will come from an advertising background, be comfortable producing campaign-led work for a range of platforms, and be confident taking charge of studio priorities and day-to-day workflow.
In this position, you will partner closely with strategists, communications specialists, and media experts to craft design solutions that resonate with audiences and support campaign outcomes. The role combines hands-on creative production with responsibility for keeping the studio organised, balancing workloads, and helping projects progress smoothly from briefing through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop digital campaign concepts for social media, display advertising, and video.
- Produce and adapt creative assets for different channels and platform requirements.
- Create strong visual output for print, outdoor media, and brand activation campaigns.
- Build new brand identities or update existing ones, including logos, colour systems, typography, and brand usage rules.
- Work with creative and media teams to ensure design choices align with audience insights and campaign strategy.
- Edit polished, well-timed video content in Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Work on short-form video and image-based content for social channels.
- Use tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Canva in the editing process.
- Oversee studio workflow, priorities, and timelines to keep projects moving efficiently.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a design or creative agency environment; advertising experience is strongly preferred.
- Advanced ability in Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.
- Practical experience with video, animation, and motion graphics.
- Comfort using AI tools within creative production workflows.
- Ability to design across both digital and traditional formats, including social, display, out-of-home, print, and video.
- Good understanding of client needs, target audiences, and what makes advertising effective.
- Experience managing studio priorities, workflow, and project deadlines.
- Hands-on video production and editing experience is a plus.
- Collaborative, proactive, and motivated by design that delivers real-world results.
