Job description
Overview
Mindrift brings subject-matter specialists into project-based AI work for major technology companies. The focus is on assessing, refining, and stress-testing AI systems. This is not a permanent role; participation happens through short-term projects.
Role Summary
In this AI Trainer position for a junior journalist profile, you will contribute content that helps AI models improve their ability to produce human-like language. The work goes beyond standard writing and is aimed at teaching AI better reasoning, accuracy in logic, subtlety, and clear expression.
Typical Project Tasks
- Write original responses that are clear, accurate, and aligned with project instructions.
- Create prompts designed to push the AI’s capabilities and expose weak points.
- Build detailed evaluation criteria to judge whether the model’s answers are correct and useful.
- Maintain the required tone, format, and quality benchmarks so outputs stay consistent.
Candidate Profile
This opportunity suits people who are open to part-time, non-permanent project work. The ideal contributor will have a background that supports strong language handling and editorial judgment, along with the ability to work independently in English.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Linguistics, Literature, or Education.
- At least 1 year of professional experience in Journalism, Communications, PR, or a related field.
- Strong critical thinking skills and confidence working with English-language text.
- Advanced written English proficiency at C1/C2 level.
- A reliable internet connection.
Process
The workflow is: submit an application, complete the qualifying step(s), join a suitable project, carry out the assigned tasks, and receive payment.
Time Commitment
During active project periods, the expected workload is approximately 10 to 20 hours per week. This is only an estimate and not a guaranteed amount of work.
Compensation
Contributors may earn up to the equivalent of $30 per hour, with actual earnings depending on experience, pace, project scope, complexity, and expertise required. Payment levels can vary from one project to another.
Application Note
Please provide your resume in English and mention your English proficiency level when applying.
