About The Opportunity
A cutting-edge biotechnology firm specializing in advanced biomarker discovery and precision health innovations is looking for a Fractional COO to facilitate strategic growth and enhance operational execution. This part-time executive role will work closely with the leadership team to establish scalable business frameworks, lead corporate initiatives, and bolster expansion within the U.S. life science sector.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to craft and implement growth-oriented corporate strategies.
- Design and refine operational workflows spanning business, scientific, and administrative domains.
- Lead cross-departmental projects aimed at increasing efficiency and scaling operations.
- Support financial aspects including budgeting, planning, resource distribution, and forecasting.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators and essential operational metrics.
- Assist in fundraising efforts, manage investor relations, and participate in strategic partnerships.
- Engage with external collaborators such as researchers, suppliers, consultants, and partners.
- Oversee project management to ensure corporate goals are met within deadlines.
- Evaluate and integrate systems, policies, and infrastructure critical for growth.
- Offer leadership on organizational development and operational best practices.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership in roles such as COO, VP of Operations, or General Manager.
- Experience in biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare technology, diagnostics or related fields preferred.
- Track record of supporting early-stage or rapidly growing companies.
- Expertise in business operations, strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational development.
- Experience liaising with investors, boards, and strategic external partners.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Ability to work both strategically and hands-on in dynamic environments.
- MBA, advanced degree in science, or equivalent experience is preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Background in commercializing biotech, diagnostic, or healthcare innovation technologies.
- Familiarity with research collaboration, technology partnership, and regulated healthcare sectors.
- Experience scaling startup operations and establishing organizational infrastructure.
Additional Information
Position is fractional and contract-based, located in Cambridge, MA with hybrid working flexibility. Compensation is $185 per hour.
