Role Summary
The FP&A Business Partner is a full-time position based on site in Kampala. The role exists to strengthen strategic and day-to-day decision-making through budgeting, forecasting, and in-depth financial analysis. You will produce routine management reports, review results versus plan, and turn financial performance into practical insights around sales, margins, and operating expenses. The position partners closely with commercial, operations, and supply chain teams to assess business cases, pricing, promotional activity, and inventory funding decisions. It also contributes to cash flow forecasting, scenario planning, and the ongoing improvement of finance processes and tools, all while supporting company policies and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models that support business planning.
- Prepare recurring management reports and explain performance trends against targets.
- Analyze sales, margin, and operating cost movements to identify business drivers and risks.
- Work with commercial, operations, and supply chain teams on pricing, promotions, inventory investments, and business case reviews.
- Support cash flow planning and scenario analysis for different business conditions.
- Improve finance processes, reporting methods, and analytical tools to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure financial activities follow internal policies, controls, and governance standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Demonstrated ability in FP&A work, including budgeting, forecasting, variance review, and scenario modeling.
- Experience using financial reporting systems and spreadsheet tools such as advanced Excel, ERP platforms, and BI or dashboard software.
- Good knowledge of accounting concepts, financial statements, and KPIs used in distribution or FMCG environments.
- Ability to interpret financial information and present clear, actionable recommendations to non-finance teams.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
- Proven business partnering skills, including stakeholder management, collaboration, and influencing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; ACCA, CPA, or CFA is considered an added advantage.
- Background in FP&A, commercial finance, or business analysis, preferably in distribution, retail, or consumer electronics.
- Comfort working onsite in a busy environment and handling multiple priorities under deadlines.
- High integrity, professional ethics, and a commitment to learning and improving processes.
