FP&A Analyst

Overview

A global hedge fund firm in Singapore is looking to add an FP&A Analyst to its team. This position supports the APAC region and is suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-moving, demanding environment, while learning from experienced finance professionals and contributing meaningfully to the business.

What the role involves

• Deliver business analysis that provides solid commercial and economic input to help senior leaders make informed decisions.
• Handle reporting and analysis related to portfolio manager compensation, which is a significant cost area for the organisation.
• Build financial models for ad hoc strategic business opportunities and prepare monthly dashboards for senior management.
• Create monthly and quarterly management dashboards that clearly explain actual performance against forecasts and budgets, with meaningful business commentary.

What the employer is looking for

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline is preferred, ideally from a well-regarded university.
• Between 3 and 7 years of experience in FP&A within financial services; background in hedge funds, asset management, or broader financial services is required.
• Prior experience in management consulting or a Big 4 firm is acceptable only if it includes financial modelling experience and is not audit-focused.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills are necessary, including PivotTables, macros, and VBA; Tableau knowledge is an added advantage.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with senior stakeholders and professional teams.
• Ability to communicate persuasively and influence decisions when escalating or managing upwards.
• High attention to detail, a fast learning curve, ownership of work, and thorough follow-through are important.
• Must be a strong team player with the ability to prioritise effectively, think analytically, and work with discipline and urgency.

Additional information

• This role requires experience in FP&A, financial modelling, and dashboard creation.
• Candidates from hedge funds, asset management, or financial services are preferred.
• Applicants from management consulting or Big 4 firms may be considered if they have relevant financial modelling experience and have not worked in audit.
