Job description
About the company
lemon.markets builds an investing infrastructure that makes it easier for more people and businesses across Europe to access capital markets. The platform helps fintechs, banks, and wealth managers offer investment products that can support better financial outcomes for their customers.
The company operates as a brokerage-as-a-service provider, offering digital access to capital markets through one API. Its API-led setup is designed to hide the complexity of brokerage operations with clear documentation, a self-service operations portal, and a defined regulatory structure so partners can launch compliant, customer-focused products quickly. lemon.markets is part of the dwpbank group, which adds resources and expertise while the business continues to run independently as a fintech with its own team, product, and startup culture.
Your mission
In this internship, you will work alongside the leadership team to help the business stay organized, aligned, and moving forward. The role spans a mix of strategic and operational work across areas such as strategy and operations, business development, and go-to-market, with the exact focus shaped by business priorities and your own strengths and interests.
You will gain direct exposure to how an early-stage startup is built, working in a fast-moving and adaptable environment while taking real ownership of projects and learning from experienced specialists.
What you will do
- Assist the leadership team with strategic initiatives, including shaping business plans and helping execute them in line with company objectives.
- Contribute to go-to-market work by researching market movements, reviewing competitor activity, and tracking developments in the European brokerage space.
- Support strategic initiatives that prepare the company for post-launch growth, including scaling operations and strengthening execution quality.
- Review existing processes critically, identify improvements, and help design better operating routines for a smoother-running organization.
Who you are
You bring an academic background in business administration, economics, finance, computer science, or a related field. You approach problems with initiative, structure, and analytical thinking, and you are comfortable working independently.
You likely have practical experience in a fast-paced environment and understand how lean teams, startups, fintechs, consulting firms, or tech companies operate. You are proactive, adaptable, and comfortable taking responsibility without needing every task to be explicitly assigned.
You handle ambiguity well, can prioritize across several moving tasks, and like turning complex issues into clear, workable steps. You are hands-on, quick to act, open to learning new tools, and motivated by collaboration and knowledge sharing.
What the company offers
- A fixed monthly internship compensation of €2,425.
- The chance to have visible impact, build ownership, and broaden your experience in a startup setting.
- Flexible working hours, with trust-based scheduling and shared core hours from 12:00 to 16:00.
- A hybrid setup based in Berlin, with a strong preference for interns to spend at least 3 days per week in the office.
- Regular mentorship, stretch assignments, ongoing feedback, and a structured path for personal development.
- A people-focused culture that includes everyday rituals and team traditions, such as first-day polaroids, Friday food market walks at Maybachufer, and monthly new-joiner breakfasts.
- Workation within the EU for up to 10 consecutive days at a time and up to 60 days per year in total.
