Foodservice Worker

Role Overview

Join our team as a Foodservice Worker, where you will play a key role in preparing and distributing meals within a school setting, contributing positively to the dining experience for students and staff alike. This full-time position requires dedication to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while supporting daily cafeteria operations.

Main Duties

• Prepare and serve food following set recipes, production guidelines, and health safety standards.
• Keep kitchen and service areas sanitized and orderly.
• Stock serving stations including lines, salad bars, and refrigeration units for milk.
• Ensure proper food storage, rotation, and sanitation protocols are adhered to.
• Politely serve meals to students, school personnel, and visitors.
• Assist with receipt and organization of deliveries and inventory management.
• Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and trash removal as necessary.
• Comply with all relevant food safety regulations mandated locally and federally.
• Step in to support coworkers or cover shifts when required.
• Submit required reports punctually and fulfill additional duties as needed to assist the kitchen team and school meal program.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience in food service or custodial roles is an advantage.
• Reliable work ethic with the capacity to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Comfortable performing repetitive tasks within a structured routine.
• Possess basic mathematical and computer literacy skills.
• Must successfully pass background and fingerprint clearance processes.
• Have consistent means of transportation to and from the workplace.
• Enjoy working within an educational community and engaging with children respectfully and professionally.
• Maintain an inclusive, courteous demeanor toward all colleagues and customers.

Physical and Work Environment Considerations

• Ability to remain standing throughout the entire shift.
• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds is necessary.
• Frequent bending, reaching, walking, and hand use required.
• Work setting involves moderate noise levels and dynamic fast-paced activity.
• Regular Monday to Friday full-time schedule with occasional extended weeks and potential participation in company functions.
