Food Runner

Role overview

Daikan Izakaya at Yas Bay, a high-end Japanese dining venue in Abu Dhabi, is looking for a focused and energetic Food Runner to support smooth service across the restaurant. The position plays an important part in making sure dishes reach guests quickly, correctly, and in the right presentation, helping create a polished dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Carry food and beverages from the kitchen to the correct tables promptly, making sure the order details and plating are accurate.
• Work with chefs and service staff to manage orders, relay guest requests, and flag allergies or special instructions.
• Help clear and reset tables when needed so the dining area stays neat, welcoming, and ready for the next guests.
• Interact with diners professionally, check on their experience, and support guest satisfaction throughout the meal.
• Maintain an orderly pickup area and keep essential supplies stocked and accessible.
• Follow all hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards at all times.

Requirements

• Prior exposure to food service work, such as a food runner, server, or similar role.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
• Comfort working in a busy, fast-moving environment.
• Careful attention to detail and a strong service mindset.
• Availability for different shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Solid planning and organizational ability to handle tasks efficiently.
