Job description
About the Role
This position sits within the culinary operation at Miramonte Resort & Spa, where the team focuses on creating memorable dining moments for guests in a setting that blends desert luxury with a relaxed island-inspired atmosphere. The Food Runner works closely with the expo and service teams to make sure completed dishes leave the kitchen quickly, arrive at the correct table or guest location, and are presented properly.
What You’ll Do
You’ll help keep service moving smoothly by delivering hot and cold dishes from the kitchen windows to dining tables, guest rooms, and the pool deck. You’ll also coordinate with the expo and floor team, check plate appearance before service, and support the restaurant’s overall cleanliness and readiness during busy meal periods.
- Partner with the expo to move completed food from the hot and cold windows to guests without delay.
- Carry dishes to the right table or seat, and also deliver orders to guest rooms when needed.
- Confirm that every plate is properly garnished and ready before it reaches the guest.
- Assist the service team by bringing any extra items guests need to finish their meal.
- Support the team by keeping the expo station stocked, orderly, and clean.
- Wipe counters, refrigerators, and nearby surfaces; sweep and mop the area as needed.
- Clear trash and dirty dishes from the expo area.
- Pre-bus tables once guests have finished with a plate.
- Help polish and roll silverware and assist with table setup for larger parties.
- Run food to the pool deck and place it correctly based on the floor plan.
- Stay in communication with kitchen staff so food orders go out on time.
- Coordinate with staff and management before stepping away from the work area.
- Work with teammates to handle special requests and guest needs.
- Use initiative to address complaints and help build guest loyalty.
- Take on additional duties assigned by management.
