About the Role
Join Amey as a permanent Food Porter based at the Highcroft Site, Fentham Road, Erdington, Birmingham, supporting the Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. This full-time position requires onsite presence and offers a 37.5-hour work week from Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 14:30, with occasional overtime and some bank holiday shifts. A full driving licence is mandatory for this role. The hourly pay rate is 3.45.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and check food deliveries against orders, storing them in the designated freezer area.
- Pick and package menus for wards from the provided selections and deliver them accordingly.
- Perform stock rotation to maintain food quality and safety.
- Handle weekly laundry deliveries, sorting, packing, and delivering laundry to relevant wards.
- Carry out various porter duties including clinical waste collection and furniture relocation as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a valid full driving licence.
- Previous experience in porter roles or warehouse/store environments is preferred.
- Strong time management skills and reliability.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Effective communication abilities.
- Willingness to acquire new skills and adapt to changing business needs.
- Self-driven, resilient, and flexible approach to work.
