Food Counter Attendant

Job Overview

This permanent position requires working 35 hours per week at a food service establishment in Greenwood, Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will operate primarily in English and must possess a high school graduation certificate. No prior experience is necessary as complete training will be provided.

Primary Duties

• Deliver clean dishes, flatware, and necessary items to service points and prepare tables.
• Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs efficiently after customer use.
• Wash and sanitize dishes and utensils manually.
• Maintain records of food usage quantities.
• Package food for take-out orders appropriately.
• Portion and wrap food items according to standards.
• Prepare, heat, and complete simple food items as needed.
• Attend to customers by taking orders at counters or buffet-style setups.
• Keep refrigerators and salad bars stocked.
• Thoroughly clean and sanitize kitchen areas including surfaces, cupboards, appliances, and equipment.
• Dispose of kitchen garbage and trash responsibly.
• Perform floor maintenance duties such as sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing.
• Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables for preparation.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Standing for extended periods is required.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
