Situated in the vibrant heart of Surfers Paradise, Novotel offers easy access to shopping, entertainment, and nightlife. The hotel boasts 408 elegantly furnished rooms plus multiple dining venues including The Restaurant, Blvd Café and Bar, pool bar, and in-room dining. Guests enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere and amenities such as a heated outdoor pool, tennis courts, basketball and netball courts, BBQ facilities, gym, and a kids’ play area. The hotel also provides six modern function rooms catering for up to 500 attendees, ideal for conferences and events.

Role Overview

In this role, you will serve across various food and beverage outlets and event settings, including Blvd Café & Bar, in-room dining, pool bar, and conference services. Your responsibilities will include engaging warmly with guests, fostering a welcoming environment, and consistently delivering exceptional service.

Key Duties

• Prepare flawless coffee drinks, brightening guests' days with perfect brews
• Provide memorable and outstanding guest service
• Create and mix a variety of beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, frappes, smoothies, and juices
• Operate cash registers, accurately process payments, and manage guest discounts
• Engage with guests and locals in BLVD Bar & Café to enhance dining experiences
• Recognize and cater to loyalty guests, ensuring they receive appropriate benefits
• Deliver room service, amenities, and pool bar orders efficiently

Candidate Profile & Requirements

• Experience in café, bar, banquets, or a la carte service settings
• Familiarity with Micros or similar POS systems for cashiering and credit card transactions
• Strong interpersonal skills and eagerness to learn
• Passionate and warm-hearted approach to guest interactions
• Good knowledge of wines and cocktails along with creativity to fulfill special requests
• Ability to work independently within your section or collaboratively in a team environment
• Current Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
• Flexibility and reliability to work rotating shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and public holidays
• Valid work rights in Australia
