Role Overview
The Floor Supervisor / Assistant Outlet Manager will oversee everyday operations at the outlet, ensuring efficient service flow, excellent team collaboration, and a consistent premium guest experience throughout their shift. This position requires a hands-on leader who manages shifts, controls the dining area, supervises the team, and upholds standards of service, cleanliness, and compliance during operating hours.
This role serves as a crucial intermediary between the service team and outlet management, focusing on driving execution, discipline, and uniformity during opening, service, and closing times.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the dining area during service to guarantee seamless guest movement, effective teamwork, and prompt assistance to service personnel.
- Assist the Restaurant Manager with daily venue management and take full leadership of shifts in their absence.
- Observe guest experiences attentively, address any concerns professionally, and aid in service recovery to ensure high guest satisfaction.
- Oversee table assignments, seating arrangements, reservation communications, and section balancing to optimize service efficiency.
- Lead shift briefings to communicate essential operational priorities, including reservations, VIP guests, menu changes, and service instructions.
- Direct and supervise service staff, deliver on-floor guidance, and support ongoing training, coaching, and performance monitoring.
- Maintain strict standards of cleanliness, organization, personal grooming, and outlet presentation at all times.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation, inventory checks, and preparing the outlet for operations each day.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, health and safety regulations, and operational protocols throughout the floor area.
- Promptly report operational challenges, staffing shortages, guest complaints, and maintenance needs to the appropriate management personnel.
Performance Indicators
- Efficient and smooth shift operation and service flow.
- High guest satisfaction achieved through effective complaint handling and service issue resolution.
- Strong team oversight ensuring discipline and uniform quality service on the floor.
- Maintaining cleanliness, grooming, and adherence to all operational standards within the outlet.
Candidate Profile
- 2 to 4 years' experience working in restaurant or hospitality settings with supervisory or senior floor responsibilities.
- Solid knowledge of front-of-house operations, guest service management, reservation flow, and team coordination.
- Ability to calmly and professionally manage guest complaints, challenging service situations, and busy periods.
- Effective leadership traits, excellent communication capabilities, and aptitude to supervise front-of-house teams successfully.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash handling, and shift operational procedures is preferred.
- Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are beneficial.
