Finishing Carpenter

Role overview

Hilton is looking for a Finishing Carpenter to support guest satisfaction and day-to-day maintenance work across the property. This role involves carrying out carpentry repairs, fabricating and finishing wooden items, using workshop equipment safely, and delivering courteous service while working closely with other team members.

Key duties

• Carry out repairs on furniture and fixtures based on the supervisor’s instructions.
• Build shelves, benches, doors, frames, stage pieces, picture hangings, and similar items.
• Prepare, finish, and polish furniture to an acceptable standard.
• Use carpentry machinery such as saws, routers, and planers while following safety procedures strictly.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest complaints.
• Learn and perform fire brigade duties when required.
• Keep the carpentry workshop tidy and maintain clean work areas.
• Look after tools so they remain clean, safe, and secure at all times.
• Record daily tasks and time entries accurately for review.
• Maintain a consistently high standard of workmanship.
• Take on other reasonable tasks as assigned and handle multiple responsibilities when needed.
