Role Overview
TD Wealth is looking for a Financial Planner to join the Trenton, Ontario team. This is a full-time onsite position with a 37.5-hour workweek. The role focuses on helping mass affluent clients achieve their financial goals through personalized planning, advice, and relationship-based service.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is CAD 60,000 to CAD 70,000 annually. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for commission-based earnings. TD notes that compensation may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, location, and business needs.

Responsibilities
- Build trusted relationships with clients by learning about their personal and financial objectives and carrying out detailed financial reviews.
- Provide tailored financial guidance and support clients over time with consistent communication and follow-up.
- Use data and insights to assess outcomes, shape recommendations, and review the effectiveness of financial programs, policies, and practices.
- Work closely with the broader team to deliver strong client experiences and meet shared business goals.
- Track productivity and service performance, then identify ways to improve efficiency and execution.
- Stay current on financial planning trends, industry practices, and market developments.
- Share knowledge with colleagues and contribute as a mentor in a supportive team environment.

Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Ideally, candidates bring 3 to 5 years of experience in banking services, along with a background in client relationship management and investment advice.
- Applicants should be prepared to obtain Registered Representative (RR) licensing through the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) if they are not already licensed.
- The role requires a commitment to earning the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation within the first three years.
- To meet CFP eligibility, candidates need either a university degree, up to 10 years of qualifying work experience, or at least 5 years as a QAFP professional in good standing at the time of application.
- Strong interest in financial planning and helping clients achieve both financial and life goals is important.
- A business-development mindset, including comfort with networking and higher-value sales, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the industry environment, economic factors, and regulatory expectations is valuable.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are required.
- Ability to collaborate with a team or work independently while maintaining a client-focused approach is expected.
