Role overview

This opportunity is presented on behalf of a partner organization that handles the application review and subsequent hiring stages. The company is seeking a Financial Operations Analyst in Australia to support a busy global finance function.

The position focuses on operational finance work across accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and financial reporting. You will help maintain accurate financial records, support scalable processes, and work closely with account managers, legal stakeholders, and other internal teams to interpret customer agreements and execute transactions correctly. The role is hands-on and detail-oriented, involving invoicing systems, reconciliations, and financial tools, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, consistency, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee finance operations from end to end, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and customer reconciliations, while keeping transactions accurate and timely.
  • Generate and send customer invoices each month in line with contract terms and internal compliance expectations.
  • Handle vendor invoice workflows, purchase order coordination, and approval follow-ups with strong control over operational details.
  • Review AR/AP aging, cost trends, and inventory movements to help inform business decisions.
  • Prepare on-demand financial reports and assist with uploads, reconciliations, and system maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to onboard vendors and strengthen finance processes, tools, and overall efficiency.
  • Address finance-related questions from internal and external stakeholders clearly, professionally, and with a service mindset.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, including at least 1 year working specifically with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar discipline.
  • Solid grasp of accounting fundamentals and finance operations workflows.
  • Comfort using Excel, Google Sheets, and other Google Workspace applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Xero or comparable accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational habits, and the ability to juggle several priorities at once.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills, paired with a proactive and professional style.
  • Proven ability to suggest process improvements and contribute well in a collaborative team setting.
